Considering Macau's booming casino & tourism industry and Hong Kong’s thriving economy, SMH led a trade mission to Hong Kong and Macau on May 10 and May 11. The mission consisted of 8 western U.S. companies looking for potential buyers.
The delegates met with selected major hotels in Macau, including the Westin Resort, Lisboa and Macau Sands. They also had a meeting with the Macao Trade and Casino Investment Promotion Institute, as well as the Groceries and Merchandise Association, two of the most prominent trade organizations in Macau.
This first trade mission to Macau was met with great success. With SMH's help, the pre-arranged meetings were highly productive as they enabled the establishment of relationships with many potential buyers. A few U.S. exporters have already signed sales contracts with hotels/restaurants in Macau because of the mission.
During the trade mission visit to Hong Kong, SMH arranged a special meeting with Hong Kong Disneyland. This allowed the U.S. companies to gain greater insight into Disneyland’s product needs, not to mention introduce their own products. |
